LÃœDERITZ SECONDARY SCHOOL TAKES THE STAGE

Students and Lüderitz High School have dived into rehearsals for a production of The Lion King following demands that Lüderitz does not offer enough to the town youth. Being in a play encompasses many things; determination, creativity, dedication and confidence in yourself. It is lucky then that the group of learners from LSS who have agreed to take part in the part drama part musical production have got what it takes. Despite never having regular drama or music lessons the group of approximately 25 students have jumped at the chance to get on stage and are already beginning to put time and effort into their rehearsals. The Lion King, written by Irene Mecchi and Jonathan Roberts with music by Tim Rice and Elton John, is being directed and produced by volunteers and will be performed on stage towards the end of July. The cast and production members will welcome any additional help that is offered in sorting out the set and costumes as well as technical assistance such as stage management and lighting.
