CANCER ASSOCIATION NEWS

I find this rather unusual yet slightly hopeful from my side that we are looking for names of Cancer patients. Or have we finally beaten the disease here in Luderitz? I sincerely hope so, but if there are any patients out there that need a friendly face, a helpful hand or anything… let us know and give us your names. I like celebrating the life in people and with you I can. So think about it and give us your name. fight against Cancer and for allowing us to get the word out there.

On behalf of everyone I would like to thank:

Ritzis for allowing us to have the Ladies Breakfast there

Salon Loyde

Nedbank

Bank Windhoek in Luderitz and Keetmanshoop

Netta’s Biltong shop

Grillenberger Bottle store

Telekom for mobile phones

You helped us make $3219.00 for Cancer so give yourselves a pat on the back….and thank you for caring.

Montessori and Christian schools for volunteering to make Pink Day ribbons

Please remember that CAN is still looking for second hand clothing.

Also available are “Pull-ups” for $107 for 14.

Our calendar for the rest of the year!

12th September – Cake sale at the Children’s Luka

19th September – Final orders for Bandana’s ($20 each)

25th September – Bandana Day

25th September – Montessori Cup 4 Cancer

16TH October – Pink Day

On a more sober note it is estimated that every two minutes a woman dies from Cervical Cancer. There are no symptoms and when diagnosed, it is often too late. Radiation is not effective either so please take a chance and go and see a doctor as you are more important alive to us. Call on us at your Doctors for your yearly Pap Smear program and ensure that your family is happy.
