The Buchter’s back

Hello, hallo, ongiini and welcome to all the Bucht from this year’s Buchters! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many people that have already made us feel so welcome here in Lüderitz. It is a beautiful town and we both are very excited to be here and are looking forward to getting to know you and our new home.

However, introductions (and explanations), are in order! Sarah is a born and bred Yorkshire lass, and an aspiring teacher/journalist. Our second Buchter is Hannah, (yes, another one) Furey who comes from Ireland and is not half as scary as the surname suggests.

Well! You are probably curious as to why The Buchter News is even going ahead this year, especially when the title page of the last edition was, “THE END OF THE BUCHTER”. There was originally a question mark at the end of the title that was, unfortunately, missed during printing. We apologise for any confusion and assure you that The Buchter will be going ahead, at least for the time being. The trouble with printing costs has still not been resolved but we are determined to carry on the project and are asking that you continue to support the newspaper.
