Around The World Bazaar
On Friday the 2nd of October the Dutch Reformed Church held a fundraiser in the Turnhalle which celebrated many different cultures from all around the world. The countries represented were France, Holland, Germany, South Africa and of course, Namibia.
The Turnhalle was not only a feast for the eyes with artistically laid out stalls but also a feast for the stomach. There was a variety of food to choose from, whether you fancied crepes from the French stand, Kuchen from the German or Braaifleis from the Namibian stand; there was something for everyone.
The stage had also been transformed into an area devoted to “Kids Around The Worldâ€. There were many fun activities such as Twister, magnetic fishing and face painting.
As we left there were throngs of people queuing for entry and the hall was buzzing with conversation, and Reverend Stefan Malan and his wife Santel were pleased with the turn-out. •
