Groundbreaking Ceremony

The 26th of October was a very important date for the learners of Diaz Primary School. Not only did the school receive a generous donation of computers from Namport, but they also laid the foundations for a bakery that will serve the learners. The foundations for the bakery were donated by the Rotary Club and the President, Mr. Hummel was there to represent the club. The event was well attended by local businesses, school principals, school children and Rotary club members.
The bakery, situated on Diaz Primary school premises, will provide daily bread for all the Orphans and Vulnerable Children from Luderitz state schools. This is a long term project, which will help 582 children to begin with.
Various grades in the school had organised performances in celebration of the event. The choir sang and traditional dances were performed by the learners from Ms. Siberi’s group, Ms. Yisa’s group, Ms. Motinga’s group and Steven’s group. •
