Unsolved Murder

A horrific murder occurred during the early hours of Sunday the 27th of September. The victim, Joseph Sonn, was found at 8.40am by the police, lying on his back with a black belt around his neck. The cause of death is still unclear as the autopsy hasn’t been completed yet, but many witnesses say the victim looked as though he had been stabbed and raped.
The victim, a 32 year old resident of Luderitz, was found just behind the soccer stadium. Another homosexual male was also murdered a few years ago, but he was found on the soccer pitch, so many people are speculating as to whether these murders are related, and if so, are they hate crimes?
The police had three main suspects, all from LĂĽderitz, who have all been tried in court and found not guilty. This means that the murderer is still out there, and it is a necessity he is caught and sent to jail before something like this happens again. There is a narrow window after death in which to take DNA samples from the victim and his murderer. Time is of the essence and it seems shocking that it takes over a month to perform an autopsy; this could mean that the murderer gets away with this horrendous crime.
Many people saw the victim’s body before the police arrived, including young children and teenagers; is this what we want the youth of Lüderitz to be exposed to? This also means rumours spread fast around Lüderitz, regarding how the victim was killed and who his killer could be. If anybody has any relevant information they are urged to go to the police, so this person with total disregard for the law and other human beings can get what he deserves.
Joseph Sonn’s funeral was held on October 11th in Lüderitz. His family, who live in Karasburg, and friends would like to say a heart felt thank you to the community for giving support and understanding during this difficult time. Let’s hope that this is the end of brutal crimes such as this, and people here learn to accept each other as they are.
