Blast From The Past

An old Buchter News volunteer paid a visit to Lud¬eritz in early January to visit his old town and see how it has progressed since he left.
Toby Harris was a volunteer here in 1995-1996 and worked at the Rossing Foundation. His colleagues for the year were Beth and Louisa, and as well as being editors of the newspaper they all taught in various schools in Luderitz.
Toby was here for two nights with his girlfriend of ten years, Marion, who he is travelling around South Africa and Namibia with. His opinion on Luderitz hasn’t changed drastically, apart from the fact that the town is now a lot quieter than he remembers it, with less young people and colder winds!•
