New Term Begins
January 2010 saw the start to the new school year for schools across Namibia. This means children have been moving grades, classes and schools in order to prog¬ress with their education, and things are no different here in Luderitz.
A new crèche has opened at Diaz Primary School, thanks primarily to Rotarians in Germany who provided funding for the new building. The crèche opened on Monday 26th January, and has fifty children en¬rolled, all ready to receive their vital early education.
Helene Van Rhijn’s new premises were locked at the beginning of the term due to disputes with the contractor. They have now been opened and are steadily being occupied. Valombola Kindergarten has thirteen new young learners, and Brightstart Montessori has new children in the pre-primary and lower elementary classes. •
