Let’s Go Back To Our Roots

On the 27th of February, the Ha Ida Oa Cultural Group of Luderitz held a Cultural Day at the Waterfront. There were all sorts of activities and spectacles for patrons to enjoy, such as traditional dances, food, live music and a bouncy castle.
The phrase, “Ha ida oa”, means, “Let’s go back to our roots”. The Cultural Group was established in the September of 2007 and has been involved in a number of different events, such as the Crayfish Festival, since then. The aim of the group is to entertain and also educate the nation on their heritage. There are approximately 25 members and all are from Luderitz. They hope in the future that companies will get involved with the group and sponsor them so that they can bring more cultural events to the town.
