Be Good To Yourself

Putting your own needs before those of others may seem selfish, but if you don’t you’ll be in no condition to look after anyone else. This year look after yourself first.
How you care for yourself is the foundation on which you build your life. It is how you care for yourself that ultimately determines the quality and sustainability of your life. Caring for yourself means putting yourself first not your family, your friends or your work. But isn’t that selfish? Many will say yes, especially women ha!! On the contrary, it is selfish not to take care of yourself, because in order to give to others, you must first give to yourself.
Time is the most valuable gift you can give anyone so from today give yourself some time alone each day even if it is only five minutes. Treat your body with kindness and respect. Keep it simple and non punitive for example drink more water and drink less caffeine, I am working on that one myself. Get fresh air, eat fresh fruit and regular meals go to bed early once a week and enjoy things in moderation. It is only by being good to yourself that you create the reserves of times energy compassion, love wisdom and opportunity that can help you withstand adversity
You know you’re not taking care of yourself if you ……
• Act like your last priority is yourself
• Find it hard to switch off or focus on one thing for more than 10 minutes
• Use statements like I deserve it to justify retai therapy
• Feel guilty about relaxing
• Choosing to do what you should do and not what you want to do.
• Suffer from disturbed sleep, constantly feel tired and never wake up one time
So make this the year for you and take good care of yourself. Until next time,
