Cycle Fun Day

On Saturday 1st May at 06.00 forty five cyclists left Aus on the Annual Fun Cycle Ride to Luderitz. The last rider arrived at the finish line at 11.15! The weather was perfect for the cyclists.
This is an annual fundraising event for the Dutch Reformed Church in Luderitz.
I would like to thank the following people who assisted me:
Annalien Petzer, Piet Blaauw, Koos and Kobie Esterhuizen and Hennie Fourie and family for manning the waterstops. Leonie and Francois who waited at the finish line and last but not least, thank you to Jannie Klose for arranging the transport to Aus leaving at 04.00!!
After the event we all got together at the Luderitz Yacht Club where the cyclists were each presented with a certificate.
In 2011 the event will take place on the 2nd of May. Start practising so that we can double the number of participants and have “Buchters” also taking part!•
