Beware of Rabies
A positive case of rabies was identified in Luderitz at the end of June, causing people to worry. The State Veterinary Service offered free rabies injections at the SPCA office, Nautilus Natis Office and at the Bioscope Hall in Benguela for all animals in Luderitz. It is wise, if you haven’t already done so to get your animal injected so as not to spread the disease further. Also, be wary of animals in town as the disease can be transmitted to humans as well through biting, there have been a few cases in humans already and a few rabies scares. Any animal bites should be treated immediately as rabies is a very fast acting disease.•
