A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

“Dis Guys” that squeeze through tiny gaps in fences or climb over high walls onto private property to remove copper pipes, brass tap fittings etc (all the stuff that shines and scrap metal dealers are so willing to exchange for cash) are actually a Blessing in Disguise.
Why? That is competition question No. 1. Let me provide you with the answer, as it will take you too long or maybe forever to come up with the correct answer (and in the mean time your copper pipes, brass taps and hose fittings may well have been removed from your property into the hands of the unscrupulous scrap dealers) and precious water will be flooding the streets as a result.
As we all know there are lots of homeless, neglected, sick and starving dogs wandering around the town looking for scraps and gazing longingly at food or maybe just a friendly word.
We have been experiencing un-Luderitz like heat over the last couple of months with little wind and with this weather one wonders how they must be suffering not only from hunger but from thirst as well. That is where the “Blessing in Disguise” comes in – what with burst water pipes (that is another issue) and water leaks caused by theft of copper pipes and brass fittings there is abundant fresh water all over Luderitz!
Does it not come to mind that now atleast these poor animals have easily accessible water to drink and quench their thirst and still their hunger albeit for a short moment! It makes me happy to see the pools of water everywhere!
Now for competition question No. 2: What do the letters SPCA stand for? (Again let me tell you as your answer will be wrong…)
South Peninsular Council for Auditors – I guess that is somewhere near Cape Town……..!
It never rains but it PAWS!
