REGIONAL COUNCIL RESPONDS TO FATAL HOUSEFIRE

Two children burnt to death in an Area 7 house fire on Friday 22nd April. It is estimated that the fire occurred between 1.00am and 3.00am, whilst Marta Kondangwa was at work. Both children Helene Lluwanga Daniel, aged 9, and Levi Panduleni Shitlaleni, 9 months old, were asleep at the time. The fire brigade made all attempts possible to put the fire out but despite best efforts to the contrary, the fire destroyed the entire family home, Erf 247. The cause of the fire is not currently known. A donation was made through the Karas Regional Council on the 15th May of $7732.28, to rebuild the Kondangwa’s destroyed home.

The donation provided sufficient funds to buy materials necessary, including zinc, cement and nails, purchased from Pupkewitz Megabuild. Condolences to the family for their loss.•
