cutting out candle light

On 20th of October the Karas Regional Council represented by the Governeur of the Karas Region and Rev. Scholtz Regional Councillors handed over a cheque to the name of N$ 47311,00 to the Mayor, representing the local Authority. These funds are to finance Electricity Meter boxes wich will be used instead of candle light in the houses.

The number of children and families who have died in fires started by candles is astonishing. The local authority representative, were very grateful for the donation and were vocal in thanks and appreciation.
